Junior international
2003–2011
Anjan grew up in Glasgow and played cricket and tennis for Scotland as a junior. The talent was there, but pressure was a struggle, and there were times he gave up when it got hard. Resilience had to be learned.
Student entrepreneur
2009–2012
Studied Accounting and Finance at the University of Glasgow and graduated with a first-class honours degree. Alongside that, came a first taste of entrepreneurship: selling scarves and running events. It was the first time Anjan made his own money.
Chartered accountant
2013
Qualified as a chartered accountant in the restructuring team of a Big Four firm. At 21, he was living on site at a distillery in liquidation, helping turn it around and sell it. A close look at how businesses fail, and how they can be saved.
Private equity investor
2016
Headhunted to London to invest for one of the world's largest private markets firms. On paper, he'd made it, but it wasn't the life he wanted.
Venture-backed founder
2019
Left to start a tech platform for live events. When Covid hit, it pivoted into Thrillz, a celebrity video and experiences app, raising $1.8m from venture investors to chase growth. It grew, but not fast enough, and it didn't succeed.
Chairman
2022
Became the youngest-ever chairman of Cricket Scotland at one of the hardest moments in its history. Cricket Scotland was turned around, and the women's team received professional contracts for the first time. Through a huge political storm, Anjan stuck to his values.
Bootstrapped founder
2024
Started Indexed with $700 and no investors, and this time the lessons and resilience paid off. Within 12 months, it was a profitable, seven-figure business, and the goal was reached: freedom. Then came the move to Dubai and a new chapter.
Entrepreneur & investor
Now
Today, Anjan helps ambitious people build businesses that give them freedom, through his content, Indexed and True Mettle, his investment firm.
